About Us
The Unicorn Company, led by Ross Ullrich, truly is a custom builder. Never repeating the same design twice, The Unicorn Company believes that each project is an extension of the client's vision and works closely with the client to determine their needs and wishes. Understanding that each client and each home is unique, the design process takes on an important role as the builder and architect work closely with the client to build a home that reflects the client's highest ideal. Ross Ullrich started his career in a company where the builder worked without subcontractors, instead performing every aspect of the building process which uniquely qualifies Ross Ullrich to understand the intricacies of each aspect of the building process. Commitment to building a limited number of homes each year allows the builder to be on site each day ensuring the quality and timeliness of each project.
The Unicorn Company builds throughout the Pikes Peak region of Colorado, hand selecting lots or working with client's pre-existing lots to achieve remarkable homes that preserve the natural setting while maximizing the unique qualities of each location.
About the Builder
Ross Ullrich and The Unicorn Company have been in business since 1992. In that time, he built over 36 custom homes in areas like Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, Pueblo, and La Veta. The mission of The Unicorn Company is "To design and build the most unique homes in the Pikes Peak Region". Construction of the homes normally takes between six and eight months. The designs incorporate interesting signature items such as a reflecting pool in the hearth, "Romance areas", or a "Wow" Room (a space one is sure to remember after seeing it).
Ullrich has been working in the construction industy since high school. He studied under notable builders and craftsmen through the years and obtained the skills and abilities that he brings to The Unicorn Company today. Prior to founding The Unicorn Company, Ross owned a commercial glass business, worked with a land development company, and, of course, several home building companies.
Ullrich is also active in the local community, coaching football after school at Cheyenne Mountain High School, singing in his church choir, as a member of The Rotary Club, and serving on the Board of Directors for the Arthritis Foundation. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, roller blading, hiking, and traveling. However, his main passion is Custom Homebuilding.
